Introduction:

You and your friends won a trip to England, five days and four nights. In the last night you will go to a luxurious restaurant. For that reason you have to practice how to order food properly and what kind of food you may have.

Tú y tus amigos ganaron un viaje a Inglaterra, cinco días y cuatro noches. En la última noche irán a un lujoso restaurant. Por esa razón tú debes de practicar cómo ordenar correctamente y qué tipo de comida es la que comerás.

Monday:

•  Go to the next link, read the menu of the restaurant and do the next activities:

•   Select the vocabulary that you don’t know and write it on your notebook on the vocabulary section. (20 words minimum).

Tuesday:

• Select one dish and search on the web the ingredients and the recipe of that dish and write it on your notebook, on the activities section. Remember that the recipe is in imperative form, look for the verbs and circle them.  You may use: google.com in order to look for the recipe.

Look for the vocabulary that you don’t know and write it down on you vocabulary section in your notebook. (10 words minimum).

Wednesday:

• Watch the next video and pay attention to the conversation. 

How does they order their meal? And, how does the waitress take their order? Discuss it in your teams.

• Base on the conversation of the video create your own conversation on your notebook, using the vocabulary of ordering food and the dishes of the English restaurant’s menu. Check the pronunciation due to you will present it in class.

Evaluation:

The value of the vocabulary will be of: one signature every 10 words or structures with meaning.

The value of the Recipe is of: two signatures.

Finally the value of the conversation on your notebook will be: 3 signatures

The presentation of the conversation will be one 1.5 point of the grade.

Conclusion:

In this activity we discovered more about the Gastronomical culture of England. At the same time we learn how to order in a restaurant and the correct pronunciation. This activity let us learn new vocabulary, such as the parts of a menu. Finally this activity was useful to practice our research skills because now we have some other tools that may be useful to future home-works and activities.

En esta actividad descubrimos más acerca de la gastronomía de Inglaterra. Al mismo tiempo aprendimos como ordenar en un restaurante y la correcta pronunciación. Esta actividad nos dejó aprender nuevo vocabulario, como las partes del menú. Para finalizar esta actividad fue útil para practicar nuestras habilidades de investigación, pues ahora poseemos otras herramientas que nos serán de ayuda para tareas y actividades futuras.
